NewsFlash!! Not as young as one time....but still Young!!
From Barry Williams
Hi JC and all my Friends,
Thanks to your prayers and advice, Andre' says he MASHED UP the Path & Micro B exam. He has his Orals in the same subjects on May 4th so let's do it again.
Now I need some clarification from Dr. Daddy Grant. As you may know, I boil my Chineyroot,Sarsaparilla and Blackjoint early each morning so that having drunken this concoction I will be like the aforementioned "EB" ( Please see my most recent correspondence for the translation of "EB")
Now Doc old chap, I was elated at your mention of tuna leaf, leaf of life, scirosee, carrot juice, washout herb, manish water and brown soap. Such was my elation that when my usual concoction came to a boil I gleefully added the aforementioned items 1,2,3,and 5. You see though I know you as a holy man of God and excellent doc, I couldn't quite figure what proportion of washout herb and brown soap to add to my brew, neither could I see the possible virtue. I figured you might have "misprescribed" or you might have had some ulterior motive in prescribing those two. Alas, the worst have happened ! ! ! ! On the addition of your prescription, my usually "pleasant- smelling brew" developed such an "odourifiousness"(that's Bro. Rich's word) and started sputtering and bubbling so violently that I had to turn the stove off and leave it to cool. Pinching my nose so I wouldn't be knocked out my the smell, I valiantly sprang back into the kitchen intent on having my new brew, designed, to fix my eyes and help me in my quest to continue being an "EB".
Woe of woes, apart from the thing tasting like poison it felt like gravel going down my throat and within ten minutes, I had to bolt for the bathroom where I spent the next 1 1/2 hours washed in cold sweat
Now Doc, do you think that one pound of each of the dry ingredients ( read bushes & herbs) and one quart of that there manish water was a tad too much ?, - the brew did seem unusually black in colour when I drank it. What about the brown soap and herb tea, will it fix my eyes permanently?
Please answer soon as Andre' has little or no knowledge of your HERBAL REMEDIAL SUGGGESTIONS.. He thinks you are trying to help me lose weight. I don't know what the problem is with you doctors why you always differ in your diagnoses. To be frank doc, I am more than a bit confused and pressured, as the smell of the brew woke up Melodie who started crying uncontrollably when she saw how YOUR recommendation stained her brand new pot beyond measure. Don't worry I didn't tell her it was your fault.....didn't have the strength..... THANX TO YOU. Unfortunately now, I'll have to take a break from "everything." What do you have to say for yourself ?
Write soon y'all,
Barry

ReplyDeleteDear Barry,
As I stood by my computer and read your e-mail I was aghast at your revelation of your age and your diminishing vision ( read here eye sight ). Such confession is what is best referred to here as, bleeding before the soldiers or making incomprehensible sounds when the bullet hits during battle. Have you not read of the manly guide to war ? Because make no mistake the battle against age and it's consequences is warfare indeed. And it is mandatory that one does not expose his weaknesses during battle, for fear it might dishearten the troops. Had you asked, you would have been reminded of the virtues of tuna leaf, leaf-of-life, scirosee, carrot juice, washout herb, manish water, brown soap and others too numerous to mention, which are able, reportedly, to maintain ones razor snake figure despite strong gravitational forces aided and abetted by that element of time, ( read here, age ). Instead, having not seen you for so many years, in one moment before your computer you have sort to erase my memory of a young vibrant man and replace it with that of one ravished by the spoilings of age, ( read here ' you are soo old ' ).
Nevertheless, let me congratulate the lovely Melodie who have abided faithfully as your wife for nigh fifty years. Some would argue that such a period of time is equivalent to two life-sentences with time off for good behaviour. Others, more rightly, would insist that in fact this has been fifty years of blissful marriage ( and seemingly nuff celebrations ) and in accordance with your vows you both have endured despite everything. De most blessings and respect !!!
I noticed that you have made special request that prayers be offered up for Andre' as he prepares to sit his Path., & Micro-B exam. Here in England the phrase is, ' don't just take exams, take them on '. I'm sure that somewhere in those words are valid truths which must have escaped me when I did my exams. What I can remember though is that if one is doing well during the year it is highly unlikely that they will fail this exam. Therefore the words to the parents are, ' be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God.And....... '. To the offspring ( read here Andre' ), ' don't worry mi brethren, they used to tell me ( Prof Richards ), the fact you're in medicine is because you have worked hard enough to beat out numerous applicants. Therefore, you are more clever than you think you are and these exams are just to reassure yourself that this is what you want to become - su gwaan goh mash it ( Mark 11 : 23-24 ).
Barry mi bredda, we are assured that the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and keep you from evil. Take care of the I and the I family and the most respect.
